Travel Vaccinations
Northgate Family Practice no longer provides travel advice to patients due to the complexities and risks associated with foreign travel.
If you require travel advice please contact a private travel clinic or contact one of the larger pharmacies, eg, Boots or Medicare. They will review your itinerary and provide travel advice and information on any vaccines required.
Travel vaccines available free of charge under the NHS include:
- Diphtheria
- Hepatitis A
- Polio
- Tetanus
- Typhoid
If any of the above are required, upon receipt of the travel clinic advice note, we will issue prescriptions and make arrangements for them to be administered by our practice nurse. Unfortunately we will not prescribe any of the above vaccines without written paperwork from a private travel clinic.
Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe a very useful booklet has been published with advice and guidance to help you get the most out of your holiday. To visit please click:- http://ec.europa.eu/publications/booklets/eu_glance/86/en.pdf (this is a large document and may take a minute or two to view)
